In total, the Winterberg holiday region – the heart of the Sauerland Winter Sports Arena – offers 72 red, blue and black runs. With 45 kilometres of slopes, the Winterberg ski lift network is the largest contiguous ski area north of the Main River. You can use all 46 ski lifts with a single ticket. Almost all slopes can be covered with artificial snow.

From our centrally located hotel, you can reach the Winterberg ski lift carousel on foot within 5 minutes. Ski hire shops and ski schools are located in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.

Sledging & cross-country skiing

Make your children happy! Show them how much fun it is to build snowmen and go tobogganing – for young and old alike! Some toboggan runs are floodlit, others are covered in artificial snow, or even have a special toboggan lift to take you up the hill in comfort.

In addition, up to 30 scenic cross-country trails wind their way through the snow-covered landscape. They lead around Winterberg, over the Kahler Asten and four other peaks over 800 metres high. Thanks to their high altitude, they are among the most snow-sure in the region. Machine-groomed, they offer up to 120 kilometres of partly linked trails when natural snow conditions are good.

Winterberg offers you the best opportunities for winter sports in the German low mountain ranges – whether skiing, tobogganing or cross-country skiing!
